Approximately two thousand Dallas County children are in foster care on any given day. These children are victims of the most severe forms of abuse or neglect, and were removed from their homes because it simply wasn't safe to stay. Now they are shuffled from foster home to foster home, waiting for the courts to decide when - or if - it will ever be safe to go home. In an overburdened system where resources are scarce and caseloads are overwhelming, it's easy for little things to fall between the cracks.
